In The Life of Zentralfriedhof – a short story

Download the story as a pdf file here: In The Life of Zentralfriedhof by W. M. Lewis (c) 2013

I was travelling in Austria a while back, in winter, and in Vienna visited the wonderful cemetery of Zentralfriedhof.

The cemetery is a fascinating place, and not just because it contains a lot of dead famous people. The layout is grand, the gardening is lovely, and the buildings are something great to behold, especially for an Antipodean.

I travelled on the cemetery bus, walked through the snow, sought out some of the famous stiffs, and stared in wonder at the splendid Karl-Borromäus-Kirche.

It all inspired this story. I hope you like it.
